We're currently in the process of creating a whole new look for Branchage 2009 and should have a beautiful new website in just a couple of weeks!
If this website is looking a little strange, please bear with us, it's just an Ugly Duckling phase before the beautiful new Branchage swan is revealed!
Along with the new look, we've got some big news...
Dates for the next Branchage Festival have been announced:
1st - 4th October 2009
Get it in the diary!

21st January 09
Lay down your weapons and lift your voices in praise – planning is underway for Branchage Jersey International Film Festival 2009
After the elation of Branchage 2008 (“Greatest 4 days of film, music, art and culture ever to grace the shores of Jersey, heck, the greatest 4 days of my life” Jenny, Branchage Team), October was a low point for us all. In the wake of such a spectacle of culture and cool, life just seemed a little greyer and there was nothing to look forward to. But now, the news we’ve all been waiting for – Branchage will rise again, and the planning for 2009 has begun…
Dates to be announced in February!
Like 2008, we’ll be bringing you an unmissable programme of films (local, UK and international, features and shorts); showcasing local talent as well as bringing in the best the UK has to offer; mixing it up with music and arts; and throwing some very hip parties.
Brace yourselves for changes a-plenty too though – we’ve already confirmed one new stunning venue, have some very cool new collaborators lined up and there’s an original film commission in the pipeline. And as if that wasn’t enough, Branchage’s brand new 2009 image will be revealed in just a few short months!

07th January 09
Branchage buddies in London prick up your ears (and Branchagers in Jersey pack your knapsacks for a trip across the channel)… Branchage is hosting a one-off, not-to-be-missed event at the London Short Film Festival on January 15th.
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=38085383443&ref=ts
In typical Branchage style, we lovingly bring to the capital hand-picked films, soul-shaking live music, a strange and beautiful venue and a big dose of Jersey quirk.
We're laying on a programme of short films that celebrate OUTSIDERS – those who don’t conform, those who don’t fit in, those who… keep hundred of birds in their living rooms, ahem! Then we’ve got an outrageous line-up of live acts, each covering the songs of ‘OUTSIDER’ musicians – fancy Jeremy Warmsley singing Tom Waits?
Jeremy Warmsley performs the songs of Daniel Johnston, Tom Waits and Magnetic Fields.
Paloma Faith performs the songs of Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin.
Their Hears Were Full Of Spring perform Neutral Milk Hotel.
Breton pay tribute to Syd Barrett.
Laura J Martin performs Tom Waits songs
And we’re hosting this spectacle of disconformity in the Bishopsgate Institute Great Hall - built on the site of the original Bedlam, home for the criminally insane!
