THE MAN WHO EATS BADGERS (Daniel Vernon, UK): Arthur never goes to the butcher’s shop. He gets his meat by scooping up the carcasses of animals crushed under the wheels of passing traffic. It’s a diet as varied as it is strange, and he boasts a taste for the meat of cat, barn owl, squirrel and hedgehog as well as badgers….

GROUND FLOOR RIGHT (Marlene Schiött Rasmussen, UK): A man lives in his London flat with a flock of feathery roommates, a hundred birds! They live freely in the flat. But just as the finches are free, he is not. He is their carer. They need him. Without him there is no water or food.
